Terms of use
The service
Lithos is offered by Techbyte OÜ (registry code 16817909, Ruunaoja tn 3, 11415 Tallinn, Estonia). It analyses official aerial imagery, terrain models and geological maps with AI to point out ground where climbable rock is likely. By creating an account you accept these terms.
What Lithos is, and what it is not
Every mark, rating and find is an estimate from imagery, and it can be wrong. Lithos does not say that rock exists, that it can be climbed, that it is safe or that you may go there. It knows nothing about who owns the land, access rules, closures or the state of the rock.
Climbing and moving through the mountains are dangerous. You go at your own risk and under your own judgement. Check access, protected areas, nesting closures, permits and private property before you go, and respect them.
Your account
You must be at least 16 and give a real email address. Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with your account. One person, one account.
Plans, km² and payment
The free plan includes 2 km² of scanning a month. Paid plans (Explorer, Pro) renew monthly and add km² and features as described on the plans page. A km² is ground the AI looks at in full; a survey costs a fraction of that, shown before you start. Monthly km² do not roll over; top-ups never expire.
Prices include tax. Payments are handled by Stripe. You can cancel a plan at any time from the plans page; it stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Because a scan is digital content delivered at once, you agree that it starts when you confirm it and that the right of withdrawal ends for that scan. A scan that fails gives its km² back.
What you publish
Your pins, photos, notes, lines and comments remain yours. When you share or publish them, you give us a free, worldwide licence to store and show them to the people you shared them with, for as long as they stay shared.
Do not publish what you have no right to, what puts people or nature at risk (for example, sites inside a nesting closure presented as open), personal data of others, or anything illegal, abusive or misleading. We may hide or remove such content and suspend accounts that break these rules. You can report content from the app.
Fair use
No automated scraping of the service, no attempts to get around limits or reach other people’s data, no reselling the analysis or the imagery. The imagery belongs to the agencies credited on the map, under their licences.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. Techbyte OÜ is not liable for accidents, injuries, fines or damage arising from going to places shown in Lithos, nor for the accuracy of the imagery, the analysis or what other users publish. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, nor your rights as a consumer.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, after telling you why when we can.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Estonian law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live and can go to its courts. The EU online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
